Aerospace & Aviation

Why Aerospace & Aviation matters in Uttarakhand's schools

Drones are moving from novelty to daily tool — in surveying, agriculture spraying, disaster assessment, infrastructure inspection and delivery to remote areas. For a mountain state, they matter more than almost anywhere else. The Aerospace & Aviation trade introduces school students to drone operation under DGCA rules, with posts in Almora (4), Uttarkashi (2) and Nainital (1).

The teacher must hold a DGCA-certified drone pilot certificate and teaches the full cycle: pre-flight checks, safe operation, regulations, mission planning and the practical applications that employers actually pay for.

What students learn

  • Basics of flight, multi-rotor drones and their components
  • DGCA regulations, airspace rules and permissions
  • Pre-flight checks, safe operation and emergency procedures
  • Mission planning, mapping and aerial photography basics
  • Applications in surveying, agriculture, inspection and disaster response
  • Battery care, basic maintenance and record keeping
