Drone Service Technician

Why Drone Service Technician matters in Uttarakhand's schools

As drones become working tools across agriculture, surveying and inspection, someone has to keep them flying. The Drone Service Technician stream trains students to assemble, service, diagnose and repair multi-rotor drones at component level — motors, ESCs, flight controllers, batteries, frames and sensors.

This is a specialised stream of the Electronics & Hardware trade with 4 posts. The teacher combines electronics bench skills with drone-specific assembly and testing routines, and works closely with the Aerospace & Aviation curriculum on safety and regulation.

What students learn

  • Drone anatomy — frames, motors, propellers, ESCs, flight controllers, batteries
  • Assembly, calibration and test procedures
  • Fault diagnosis with bench instruments
  • Component-level repair and replacement
  • Battery handling, charging safety and storage
  • Maintenance logs, regulations and safe testing practice
